How we gather and verify court data
PickleCourtMap is a small, independent directory run from Brunswick, Maine. Accuracy is the whole point, so here is how a listing gets on the map.
Where listings come from
- Town and city recreation department pages and program sign-up pages
- YMCAs, clubs, schools, campgrounds and indoor facilities' own websites
- OpenStreetMap, where volunteers tag courts on the map
- Place data from the Overture Maps Foundation
- Corrections and submissions from players and facilities
Only verified listings
Every listing on PickleCourtMap was checked against the facility's, town's or club's own page. Courts we have only seen in OpenStreetMap or other datasets stay off the site until we confirm them. Right now we list 455 verified locations.
What we never do
We never guess hours, fees or court counts. If we haven't confirmed a detail, the listing says "Not confirmed yet". Every listing shows its sources and the date we last checked it.
Keeping it fresh
We re-check listings on a rolling schedule, oldest first. Indoor and paid venues and open-play times get checked more often, because they change most.
